Glögg

I just noticed this recipe wasn't on here, which is an outrage.  An outrage!

In a big pot: a few cloves, a cinnamon stick, 10ish cardamom pods, the zest of an orange, a handful each of raisins and slivered almonds, a bottle of red wine
Heat on med-low for 30-45 min or so, or until the room starts to smell good (make sure it gets nice and warm/hot, but doesn't boil).
Sweeten to taste, spike with vodka or brandy.  Get your hygge on.

My boss called me at 10 this morning to ask me what went in a hot toddy, and whether or not it belonged in a punch bowl. I told him that it did not, but Cafe Diable did, and it is set on fire, and I will bring him those two recipes and this one tomorrow. Thanks for providing in an insightfully timely manner. (We do not use that much cardamom, but I think we would enjoy it if we did.)Want Glogg now.

Now that you mention it, I might have been thinking of the cardamom pear cake when I wrote that. Mom called me today while sipping glogg from this recipe (I was totally jealous), and I heard no complaints about toxic cardamom levels, so it's probably fine. Oops!

I think I would like to visit this cafe of yours...
